In all due respect they have a veeeeeery limited budget and you can’t exactly cram two (huge fully detailed) LOTR books and put it in a 2 hour movie and have every single detail/flaw ironed out. But yeah there ARE things that reeeeally irk me/could’ve done better, but I still enjoy it for what it is and I can tell it inspired Jackson’s version xD
But it’s obvious Jackson’s is better anyway…I should watch the movies again sometime XD
I agree, Bakshi’s one is awesome, but it can be… Pretty awkward or fail at telling something, besides, cramming it into a 2 hour movie, for books that took a while to be made, also, Jackson did nailed it right at VARIOUS points and what he couldn’t put, he did referenced it (Example: The original ending of LotR, where all ends in massive industrial waste, was referenced on The Fellowship of the Ring in Galadriel’s vision to Frodo).
Bakshi’s had the points of making stronger character development in key characters, Frodo and Aragorn in his movie are COMPLETELY different than the ones in the Jackson one, and added strength into it, both are great, just Bakshi’s one was incomplete.
